Description

1969 Chevrolet Yenko Nova/SC Clone

:icondetroitdemigod: has pointed out that the car is not a hardtop and has no badges, and so it may be a clone. It's been four weeks now, and the owner has not answered my emails, so i am renaming it and calling it a clone.

Yenko Sports Cars, the performance division of Yenko Chevrolet in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, is probably the best known of the dealerships that specialized in making muscle cars of the sixties and seventies even more muscular. Donald Yenko headed up the group that made the Yenko Camaro famous. In 1969, along with Camaros and Chevelles, Don Yenko also dropped Chevy’s 427 into the Nova, creating the Nova/SC...a real fire breathing beast of a car. In the late sixties and early seventies, any Chevy wearing the Yenko/SC side stripe was a car to be respected at the strip.

Shot this at the Hazelwood Baptist Church Car Show in St. Louis County, Missouri, on June 26, 2010.
Cleaned this up in Photoshop, lightened and darkened some areas, and blurred the background a bit.

Hate to burst you bubble but that looks like a clone. No badges on the side, no hardtop, and anyone in there right mind wouldn't take an expensive, rare car, and transform it into that.

Took a picture of a Yenko Nova last Saturday and found out it was a clone as well. It was the best clone of anything I've seen. He had everything correct except for the headrests; there were none. One thing about the car world is that you can't believe everything you see. Even if you think you know what your looking at, it's always best to ask the owner. That's how I found out about the Clone.
