1964 Pontiac GTO, the first Muscle Car of the first Muscle Car era.

Shot this at the Re/Max Car Show in suburban St. Louis, Missouri on September 25th, 2010.
Cleaned this up in Photoshop, and used several layers to lighten and darken some areas, hide a trailer in the background, and change the license plate.

This is the car that touched off the first Muscle Car era back in 1964, the Pontiac Tempest with the GTO option. This is the car that John DeLorean built when he was the head of Pontiac. The option package included a 389 cubic inch V8. It was a small mill compared to what the Muscle Car era ended up with, but was very impressive at the time.

This photograph may be used as a reference photograph for anyone who wishes to draw or paint it, traditionally or digitally. Just a few simple rules for use.

Oddly I have never been able to get a really good shot of a '64 GTO. How weird is that?!

I dunn'o...this was my first good shot at a '64 GTO after many car shows, and even with this one there was a huge Mopar trailer in back of it and a fold up chair in front of it. Thank God for the clone tool! :)
